The Gruesome is on trial for murder. . .

Meanwhile, John Doe is struggling to learn the truth behind who he is and where he comes from.  he finds himself also being haunted by a new apparition, a vision which calls itself Mister Oliver.  Oliver invites John to join The Society, a group of individuals who, like John, have abilities and talents unlike most other people.

John is thus forced to face a jury of his peers as well as confront the question of whether he should trust Oliver or the indomitable monster who continues to torment his every waking moment. . .
