The story begins...

Meet Catherine and montgomery Grunor, the parents of Maxwell Grumor, a five year old boy.  The Grunor household is plagued with violence and jealousy as a power-play ensues between Maxwell's parents and Catherine's sinister mother-in-law, Elizabeth Grunor.  Leaving Montgomery marks the first installment of The Gruesome Series as young Maxwell begins to hear the Gruesome's foreboding voice callilng out to him from his bedroom closet.  The monster warns Max of an inevitable turn of events that may one day bring an end to Montgomery Grunor's tyrannical rule over his family.
